Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is a chronic inflammatory disease mainly affecting the spine and sacroiliac joints. Mediators such as macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) and interleukin-10 (IL-10) are thought to be involved in several inflammatory conditions, including AS.
