In different sets of experiment lipid peroxidation induction capacity of two drugs, viz., ceftizoxime sodium, a third generation cephalosporin antibiotic, and acyclovir, an antiviral agent, was studied using goat whole blood as the lipid source. Ceftizoxime sodium caused significant extent of lipid peroxidation. Lipid peroxidation being a toxicity mediating process, such observation may be related to the toxic potential of the drug. Insignificant induction of lipid peroxidation was found in…
Vitamin C status in Sudanese camels
The data may indicate that infectious diseases may further lower disease resistance and that female camels in non-estrus versus those in estrus, pregnant versus lactating, non-pregnant camels, breeding versus non-breeding animals and Bishari versus Arabi and Anafi camels might be more sensitive to disease.
Influence of α‐tocopherol, propolis and piperine on therapeutic potential of tiferron against beryllium induced toxic manifestations
It was concluded that all the combinations of tiferron and adjuvants played a beneficial role in reducing beryllium induced systemic toxicity at relatively lower doses and the combination of tifierron and propolis showed a more pronounced therapeutic potential.
Comparison of the effects of simultaneous administration of vitamin C and omega-3 fatty acids on lipoproteins, apo A-I, apo B, and malondialdehyde in hyperlipidemic patients.

Simultaneous administration of n-3FAs and VitC had no beneficial effects on the lipid profile of hyperlipidemic patients, but 1 g purified n- 3FAs daily for 10 weeks is a beneficial supplement for decreasing TG without any increase in LDL-C, apo-B or MDA.

The evidence for the case that some children with autism may become autistic from neuronal cell death or brain damage sometime after birth as result of insult is discussed; and the hypotheses that toxicity and oxidative stress may be a cause of neuronal insult in autism are addressed.
Antiviral Compounds Against Nucleocapsid Protein of Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus
Antiviral activity in PEDV-infected Vero cells demonstrated that the effective concentration of trichlormethiazide, D-(+) biotin, and glutathione in inhibiting P EDV replication were 0.094, 0.065, and 1.5 mg/mL.
A Perspective on Drug-Nutrient Interactions
Beyond prescription medication, the wide availability of over-the-counter pharmaceuticals and dietary supplements together with the increasing emphasis on self-care among people further increases consumption patterns of pharmacologically active substances.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy in Thai autistic children.
Whether Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is safe to use in children with autism, and has a statistically significant effect on autistic symptoms is determined to determine.
