Two double sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA) for Clostridium perfringens beta and epsilon toxins were assessed for routine diagnosis of enterotoxemias on intestinal contents of 151 sheep that died suddenly. Conventional tests (mouse assay and culture of organism) showed that 21 specimens were positive for Clostridium perfringens type C (beta toxin) and 39 were positive for Clostridium perfringens type D (epsilon toxin) enterotoxemias.
