Two studies were conducted to determine the efficacy of either aerosol or i.m. injection of bacteriophage to treat an Escherichia coli respiratory infection in broiler chickens. An additional two studies were conducted to enumerate the bacteriophage in the blood of birds at 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 24, and 48 h after being sprayed or injected i.m. with bacteriophage.
