AIM To compare the performance of a new chromogenic agar medium CHROMagar ESBL (KC-ESBL) to chromID ESBL (SB-ESBL) for the detection and presumptive identification of extended-spectrum ß-lactamase (ESBL)-producing Enterobacteriaceae directly from clinical specimens.
