The aim of this study was to evaluate the herbage mass of Panicum maximum cv. Aruana and spontaneous species in an aruana grass pasture during the establishment phase. The trial was carried out in Tacima-PB, Brazil, in a 0.25 ha area with aruana grass. A randomised-block design with four blocks and four experimental periods was adopted, in which the treatments consisted of four harvest times (rainy, rainy/dry, dry and dry/rainy periods). Forty-seven spontaneous species were identified…

FLORISTIC COMPOSITION OF DIFFERENT SOIL TYPES IN A SEMIARID REGION OF BRAZIL
TLDR
A comparative analysis of the different habits of flowering plant species that occur on different soil types in a semi-arid region of northeastern Brazil suggests that the woody habit responds better to local morpho-pedological differences.
Forage supply in thinned Caatinga enriched with buffel grass ( Cenchrus ciliaris L.) grazed by goats and sheep - doi: 10.4025/actascianimsci.v34i2.12548
TLDR
Grazing affected availability, accumulation rate and supply of the forage produced (DM basis) by dicotyledonous herbs in a thinned Caatinga enriched with buffel grass exposed to goat and sheep grazing.
Use and knowledge of fuelwood in three rural caatinga (dryland) communities in NE Brazil
The woody species known, used, and preferred as fuelwood were examined in three rural communities within the county of Soledade, Paraíba State, NE Brazil. Ethnobotanical information was collected
Survey of medicinal plants used in the region Northeast of Brazil
TLDR
A survey of the species of plants and their uses as medicinal, which are utilized for therapeutic purposes in Northeast region of Brazil, and the greatest importance of investigation of those species that have not been subject of pharmacological study is emphasized.
INFLUENCE OF VARYING RATIOS OF PANICUM (Panicum maximum): CENTRO (Centrosema pascorum) MIXTURES ON VOLUNTARY FEED INTAKE, NUTRIENT DIGESTIBILITY AND NITROGEN BALANCE IN RED SOKOTO Bucks
TLDR
It can be concluded that feeding 50:50 and 60:40 P. maximum to Centrosema mixture produced the best result in terms of nutrient intake, digestibility and nitrogen balance in Red Sokoto bucks.
Structural and Production Characteristics of Piatã Grass Forage Submitted to Levels of Nitrogen
TLDR
The productions of green leaf blade dry matter, tiller density, leaf blade length and leaf blade index are all variables related to structural aspects and pasture quality, with all attaining their highest values at a mean nitrogen application level of 380 kg&middotha-1.
Green leaf allowance and dairy ewe performance grazing on tropical pasture.
TLDR
Overall, Aruana guineagrass grazed by lactating dairy ewes should be managed to provide 7 to 10 GLA in kg DM/100 kg BW according to the production goals, with the maximum response in milk yield achieved with higher forage allowances than in temperate pastures.
MORPHOGENETIC AND STRUCTURAL CHARACTERISTICS OF GUINEA GRASS PASTURES UNDER ROTATIONAL STOCKING STRATEGIES
TLDR
Guinea grass pastures subjected to two grazing frequencies and two post-grazing heights during the rainy season and dry year showed morphogenetic and structural characteristics that do not compromise the tissue flow in tillers and can be utilized for the management of Guinea grass.
