Large collections of Syllidae (Polychaeta) from around Australia, housed at the Australian Museum (Sydney), have been examined and identified. Australian material from the Hamburgische Zoologische Museum der Universitat, Hamburg, Germany was also examined. All known Australian species of the subfamily Eusyllinae (Syllidae) are described and figured. Some were examined using the Scanning Electron Microscope to illustrate characters and methods of reproduction in this subfamily. Keys to genera… Expand

Contribution to the knowledge of Syllidae (Annelida, Phyllodocida) from Japan with descriptions of three new species
Abstract The study of a collection of Japanese Syllidae (Polychaeta) from 18 different intertidal samples yielded a total of 16 genera and 31 species. Three new species of Syllis Lamarck, 1818 fromExpand
New reports and a new species of Syllidae (Annelida) from Chilean Patagonia
TLDR
Samples collected from samples collected in shallow water from fjords and channels in Chilean Patagonia revealed a new habitat for syllid polychaetes inside tubes of the polychaete worm Chaetopterus cf. Expand
Syllidae (Polychaeta) from the Arctic and sub-Arctic regions
TLDR
A collection of over one hundred specimens of Syllidae (Polychaeta) from the Arctic and sub-Arctic regions has been examined and identified and 2 species are new to science, Streptodonta exsulis sp. Expand
Phylogeny of Syllidae (Polychaeta) based on morphological data
TLDR
The authors' results indicated high levels of homoplasy in the morphological characteristics that traditionally used to differentiate groups, such as the fusion of palps and the presence of nuchal epaulettes in the Syllidae. Expand
Description of a new species of Streptosyllis (Polychaeta: Syllidae) from the Mediterranean and Canary Islands with a re-description of Streptosyllis arenae and comments on the taxonomy of Streptosyllis and some morphologically similar genera
A new Streptosyllis species, S. nunezi n. sp., is described from shallow sandy substrates in the Mediterranean and the Canary Islands. The new species is distinguished by a unique combination ofExpand
