Acute promyelocytic leukemia (M3) is a distinct subtype of AML considered to have better response to chemotherapy and a higher cure rate than other subtypes. We analyzed the outcome for 362 M3 patients transplanted in Europe from November 1979 to December 1992 and reported to the acute leukemia registry of the European Cooperative Group for Bone Marrow Transplantation (EMBT).
