Confluent cultures of cloned bovine endothelial cells, which were derived from large vessels, produced and secreted plasminogen activator (PA) at constant rates. Exposure of these cultures to increasing concentrations of ethyl alcohol resulted in a significant augmentation of PA production and secretion.
