In this study, some anti-nutritional factors present in oil-free seeds of egusi (Citrullus colocynthis L.) seed cake were determined. Oil was extracted from the oil-free egusi seed by the Soxhlet extraction method. The anti-nutritional factors were determined using the standard methods. The result of anti-nutritional factors analysis revealed that the seed contains phytate (3.09 ± 0.65mg/100g), oxalate (16.20 ± 2.12mg/100g), nitrate (1.09 ± 0.03mg/100g), cyanogens (13.78 ± 0.13mg/100g) and…

Nutritional assessment of defatted oil meals of melon (Colocynthis citrullus L.) and fluted pumpkin (Telfaria occidentalis Hook) by chick assay

TLDR
The potential for increased dietary utilisation of melon and fluted pumpkin meals and flours to meet the dietary needs of monogastric animals as well as human subjects is discussed.

Evaluation of proximate composition, mineral element and anti- nutrient inalmond (Terminalia catappa) seeds

Proximate composition, mineral elements, anti-nutrients (toxicants) and lipid characteristics were determined for almond (Terminalia catappa) seeds. The results obtained showed the proximate

Oxalate and phytate of soy foods.

TLDR
Soy foods containing small concentrations of oxalate and moderate concentrations of phytate may be advantageous for kidney stone patients or persons with a high risk of kidney stones, and there was a significant correlation, based on molar basis, between the divalent ion binding potential and soy foods.

A Analysis

TLDR
This retrospective study included adult patients that underwent in- testinal transplantation (ITx) from 5/2016 to 5/2020 and found that bacteremia is a serious complication in cancer patients, with high mortality, and 7-day clinical re-sponse was associated with lower mortality.
