Municipal Solid Waste landfilling is the most common waste elimination in the developing countries in general and particularly in Côte d’Ivoire. However, gaseous emissions from waste landfilled constitute an environment and human health concern by contributing to greenhouse gas effects, odour problems, explosion and fire hazards as well as sources of air pollution. In this study, methane emissions rates from Akouédo (Abidjan) landfill have been estimated using three theoretical models such as…

Estimation of gas emission released from a municipal solid waste landfill site through a modeling approach: A case study, Sanandaj, Iran

Sanitary landfill is the common strategy for municipal solid waste management in developing countries. Anaerobic decomposition of disposed wastes in landfill under favorable conditions will lead to

Comparisons of Two Methods for Methane Emission at Proposed Landfill Site and Their Contribution to Climate Change: Indore City

This study is primarily focused on the estimation of total methane emission potential from waste disposal sites in Indore city if it goes to landfill instead of open dumping and its effect on Indore

Methane Emission Estimation from Landfills in Korea (1978–2004): Quantitative Assessment of a New Approach

More precise information on each landfill and careful determination of parameter values and characteristics of disposed waste in Korea should be used to accurately estimate methane emissions from landfills, according to a new assessment approach using Tier 1 and Tier 2 methodologies.

Estimation of Methane Emission from Kossihouen Sanitary Landfill and Its Electricity Generation Potential (Côte d’Ivoire)

In order to solve the problem of the management of municipal solid waste in Abidjan (Cote d’Ivoire), a sanitary landfill has been designed in Kossihouen. Despite the adverse greenhouse effects of the

Characterization of the Parameters and Estimation of Potential Biogas of A Landfillin Tropical Area: Case Study of the Principal Landfill of Abidjan Akouedo Landfill

The use of fossil fuels in large-scale has resulted in the reduction of energy reserves and global warming. Why the use of renewable energy such as biogas from solid waste is appropriate to solve the

Methane emissions from a landfill in north-east India: Performance of various landfill gas emission models.

Estimation of Methane Production by LANDGEM Simulation Model from Tanjung Langsat Municipal Solid Waste Landfill, Malaysia

Huge quantity of methane gas is emitted from no-regulated municipal solid waste landfill to the atmosphere. Many researches have been done with the purpose to estimate the quantity of generated

Calculation of CH4 and CO2 Emission Rate in Kahrizak Landfill Site with Land GEM Mathematical Model

Emitted gasses from the landfills are one of the significant sources of air pollution in Iran. Meanwhile, the reduction, control and recycling of such gasses is of great importance from hygienic and
