The data used in this study were collected at two experimental fields located near Bedford, Quebec. These agricultural sites are characterized by different soil types and instrumented to monitor the surface and subsurface tile drain flows. The data collected include concentration of fours tracers (Mg2+, Ca2+, Na+, K+) in runoff and subsurface waters and electric conductivity (EC). The relationship between EC and tracers permitted estimation of the concentration of different tracers used in this… Expand
Modeling the influence of tile drainage flow and tile spacing on phosphorus losses from two agricultural fields in southern Québec
Tile drainage is a widely adopted water management practice in the eastern Canadian provinces of Quebec and Ontario. It aims to improve the productivity of poorly drained agricultural fields.Expand

Tile Drainage as a Hydrologic Pathway for Phosphorus Export from an Agricultural Subwatershed.
TLDR
It is confirmed that tile drainage contributes to the TP load in agricultural subwatersheds in the Missisquoi Bay region. Expand
Re-conceptualizing the Soil and Water Assessment Tool to Predict Subsurface Water Flow Through Macroporous Soils
More water and nutrients from artificially-drained agricultural land reach surface waters by leaching through macropores than by percolating through the soil matrix. However, the Soil and WaterExpand
Modeling agricultural land drainage under spring snowmelt conditions with DRAINMOD
There are few computer models that can simulate winter freeze–thaw conditions and spring snowmelt hydrology for agricultural tile drained lands. DRAINMOD, which is used widely to simulate tileExpand
Components of Phosphorus Loss From Agricultural Landscapes, and How to Incorporate Them Into Risk Assessment Tools
Phosphorus (P) loss to surface freshwater is a key driver of environmental degradation, including blooms of both harmful (e.g. microcystis) and nuisance (e.g. cladophora) algae, along with theExpand
Status and trend of hydrogeological experiments concerning the side-wall flow effect in porous media
Hydrogeological experiments provide an important means to understand groundwater seepage and solute transport problems. Basic hydrogeological parameters can be obtained for use in assessingExpand
Lime application to reduce phosphorus release in different textured intact and small repacked soil columns
Purpose Phosphorus (P) losses from agricultural fields through leaching are the main contributors to eutrophication of lakes and rivers in North America. Adoption of P-retaining strategies isExpand
