—Chthonerpeton indistinctum is nontropical, and reports suggest a distinct breeding season, allowing the potential for estimation of reproductive success. A total of 67 juvenile (and four adult) C. indistinctum were captured over five visits to a site in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, during Winter 2001.
