A new cell line, designated OCC1, was established from the ascitic fluid of a patient with a clear cell carcinoma of the ovary. The cell line grew well without interruption for over 12 months and over 80 passages. The doubling times of OCC1 were 36 and 38 hr at the 10th and 40th passages, respectively. Chromosomal analysis of the cell line showed hypertriploidy with modal number around 70-77. Several structural chromosomal abnormalities were consistently found.
