OBJECTIVE To investigate whether erythromycin (EM) can suppress the expression of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) in rheumatoid synovial cells, and determine the mechanisms involved. Methods. Synovial tissues were obtained from 25 patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA).
