The transmission of low bit rate video signals over wireless channels is considered. Fading channels introduces burst errors which cannot be corrected using conventional error correcting techniques. Turbo codes have been proved to be capable of giving better performance for bursty channels. Turbo codes are presented for use with a scalable video coder.
