throughout. It enabled me to refresh and to extend my ideas in the subject. However, I am not a 'beginner' and I think the title is a little misleading for the British market. The approach at times requires too much maturity in pure mathematics from the reader. In my own teaching of the subject I used to recommend Robin Wilson's excellent book, Graph Theory, which is accessible to a much wider range of readers.
