Ureaplasma urealyticum was isolated from the amniotic fluid of a patient with preterm premature rupture of membranes at 24 weeks. A second amniocentesis performed 48 hours later indicated an increase in the number of neutrophils in the amniotic fluid. Treatment with erythromycin, ampicillin, gentamicin, and clindamycin was instituted for a period of 6 days.
