Most often, the immobilized enzyme based quantification is an attractive alternative to other chromatographic, electrochemical and mass spectrometry based methods due to its specificity and simplicity. In the present study, polyamine oxidase specific for spermine and spermidine and diamine oxidase specific for putrescine, were co-immobilized onto a novel chitosan/coconut fibre/zinc oxide nanoparticles (CS/CF/nZnO) hybrid support to yield a polyamine sensing strip.
