Human T-cell lymphotropic virus type I (HTLV-I) and human T-cell lymphotropic virus type II (HTLV-II) have been associated with adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATL) and a rare T-cell variant of hairy cell leukemia, respectively.
