This article reviews current knowledge concerning enzootic pneumonia. Enzootic pneumonia, caused by Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae and exacerbated by secondary invaders, occurs worldwide and has been known for many years. The organism, with its typical characteristics, invades the respiratory tract in several successive steps.
