This paper examines the environmental pollution and remediation of oil spillage in the Nigerian Coastal areas. Oil spillage is one of the greatest environmental problem Nigeria is currently battling with especially in the Niger Delta zone. Oil communities have been at the receiving end of this environmental problem. The problems has generated a lot of concern within of the three tiers of government especially in oil producing states.
