OBJECTIVES To describe current enteral nutrition-prescribing practices for critically ill patients, and to identify factors associated with initiation of, and tolerance to, enteral nutrition. DESIGN A prospective, cohort study. SETTING Two tertiary care medical-surgical intensive care units (ICU) in Ontario, Canada.
