Steering criteria are conditions whose violation excludes the possibility of describing the observed measurement statistics with local hidden state (LHS) models. When the available data do not allow to exclude arbitrary LHS models, it may still be possible to exclude LHS models with a specific separability structure. Here, we derive experimentally feasible criteria that put quantitative bounds on the multipartite entanglement of LHS. Our results reveal that separable states may contain hidden… Expand

Violation of local uncertainty relations as a signature of entanglement

- Physics
- 2003

Entangled states represent correlations between two separate systems that are too precise to be represented by products of local quantum states. We show that this limit of precision for the local… Expand

Fisher information and multiparticle entanglement

- Physics

The Fisher information F gives a limit to the ultimate precision achievable in a phase estimation protocol. It has been shown recently that the Fisher information for a linear two-mode interferometer… Expand

Entanglement detection

How can one prove that a given state is entangled? In this paper we review different methods that have been proposed for entanglement detection. We first explain the basic elements of entanglement… Expand

Efficient entanglement criteria for discrete, continuous, and hybrid variables

We develop a method to construct entanglement criteria for arbitrary multipartite systems of discrete or continuous variables and hybrid combinations of both. While any set of local operators… Expand

The applicability of a recently proposed method for building steering criteria from generalized entropic uncertainty relations, which works for any entropy which satisfy the properties of (i) (pseudo-) additivity for independent distributions; (ii) state independent entropics uncertainty relation (EUR); and (iii) joint convexity of a corresponding relative entropy. Multipartite steering inequalities based on entropic uncertainty relations

We investigate quantum steering for multipartite systems by using entropic uncertainty relations. We introduce entropic steering inequalities whose violation certifies the presence of different… Expand

Three qubits can be entangled in two inequivalent ways

Invertible local transformations of a multipartite system are used to define equivalence classes in the set of entangled states. This classification concerns the entanglement properties of a single… Expand

Quantum steering

Quantum correlations between two parties are essential for the argument of Einstein, Podolsky, and Rosen in favour of the incompleteness of quantum mechanics. Schr\"odinger noted that an essential… Expand

Entanglement and squeezing in continuous-variable systems

We introduce a multi-mode squeezing coefficient to characterize entanglement in $N$-partite continuous-variable systems. The coefficient relates to the squeezing of collective observables in the… Expand

Fisher information and entanglement of non-Gaussian spin states

A general method is developed to extract the Fisher information, which reveals that the quantum dynamics of a classically unstable system creates quantum states that are not spin squeezed but nevertheless entangled, which quantifies metrologically useful entanglement. Expand
