The effect of morphine on the susceptibility of BALB/c mice to diarrheagenic Escherichia coli, Shigella flexneri, Listeria monocytogenes, Salmonella Enteritidis, Yersinia enterocolitica, was examined via the intraperitoneal inoculation. Morphine treatment increased the susceptibility to S.
