We have observed enhanced transmission of light through a gold film due to excitation of standing surface plasmon Bloch waves in a surface Fabry-Perot resonator. Our experimental results strongly contradict the recently suggested model of light transmission via excitation of a composite diffractive evanescent wave.
Effective energy coupling and preservation in a surface plasmon-light emitter coupling system on a metal nanostructure.
TLDR
The simulation results of the coupling of a radiation dipole with a surface plasmon (SP), which is induced on a metal/dielectric interface of a single groove (SG) plus a grating structure, are demonstrated and are useful for designing a metal-dielectrics interface nanostructure for implementing a SPASER (surface Plasmon amplification by stimulated emission of radiation) system.
Resonant transmission through negative permittivity materials
At the heart of the field of photonics is the control of the reflection and transmission of light. Plasmonics looks at this problem of control of electromagnetic radiation in the context of surface
