In view of the increased prospects of Zn2SnO4 as an alternative photoanode for dye sensitized solar cells (DSSCs), we synthesized phase pure Zn2SnO4 nanostructures by a cost effective sonochemical technique. In order to establish the stability of this alternative photoanode in DSSCs, we further explored the interaction of the synthesized Zn2SnO4 with commonly used photosensitizers in DSSCs, such as N3, N719 and eosin Y. Based on the time dependent optical studies we could establish the…

Zn2SnO4 Nanowires as Photoanode for Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells and the Improvement on Open-Circuit Voltage
In this work dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) based on Zn2SnO4 nanowires were fabricated for the first time. High yield growth of Zn2SnO4 nanowires were achieved through the optimization of the
Effect of surface etching on the efficiency of ZnO-based dye-sensitized solar cells.
It is suggested that special attention should be paid to protecting the surface structure of the ZnO anode during the dye-sensitizing process because the etching of ZNO may lead to low surface absorption efficiency of the dye, low electron mobility, and a high surface recombination ratio of photocarriers.
Zinc stannate (Zn2SnO4) dye-sensitized solar cells.
A Zn2SnO4 cell is more stable against acidic dyes than a ZnO cell, while it has much better performance than a SnO2 cell, suggesting that multication oxides hold great promise as new electrode materials for DSSCs.
Electron Injection Efficiency from Excited N3 into Nanocrystalline ZnO Films: Effect of (N3−Zn2+) Aggregate Formation
Dye-sensitized solar cells based on cis-bis-(4,4‘-dicarboxy-2,2‘-bipyridine) dithiocyanato ruthenium (II) (Ru(dcbpy)2(NCS)2, N3) adsorbed on nanocrystalline ZnO films are a promising system as highly
Nonequilibrium structure of Zn2SnO4 spinel nanoparticles
Zinc stannate (Zn2SnO4) nanoparticles with an average size of about 26 nm are synthesized via single-step mechanochemical processing of binary oxide precursors (ZnO and SnO2) at ambient temperature,
Photoelectrochemical study of the band structure of Zn(2)SnO(4) prepared by the hydrothermal method.
The reverse trend observed for the open-circuit voltage in certain DSC electrolytes is explained in terms of the higher rates of electron-triiodide recombination of TiO(2) despite the lower position of the Zn( 2)SnO(4) CB in the vacuum scale.
