Temozolomide (TMZ) is the primary chemotherapeutic agent for treatment of glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) yet it has a fast rate of degradation under physiological conditions to the 'active' MTIC, which has poor penetration of the blood-brain barrier and cellular absorption.
