We investigate spin transport by thermally excited spin waves in an antiferromagnetic insulator. Starting from a stochastic Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert phenomenology, we obtain the out-of-equilibrium spin-wave properties. In linear response to spin biasing and a temperature gradient, we compute the spin transport through a normal-metal-antiferromagnet-normal-metal heterostructure. We show that the spin conductance diverges as one approaches the spin-flop transition; this enhancement of the… Expand
Spin transport in thick insulating antiferromagnetic films
Spin transport of magnonic excitations in uniaxial insulating antiferromagnets (AFs) is investigated. In linear response to spin biasing and a temperature gradient, the spin transport properties ofExpand
Spin transfer and spin pumping in disordered normal metal-antiferromagnetic insulator systems
We consider an antiferromagnetic insulator that is in contact with a metal. Spin accumulation in the metal can induce spin-transfer torques on the staggered field and on the magnetization in theExpand
Propagation length of antiferromagnetic magnons governed by domain configurations.
TLDR
This work achieves efficient spin-wave propagation, over micrometer distances, in thin films of the insulating antiferromagnet hematite with large magnetic domains whilst evidencing much shorter attenuation lengths in multidomain thin films. Expand
Electrically tunable long-distance transport in crystalline antiferromagnetic iron oxide
TLDR
Tunable spin transport over long distances is demonstrated through the antiferromagnetic insulator haematite, paving the way to electrically tunable, ultrafast, low-power, antiferromeagnetic-insulator-based spin-logic devices6,13 that operate without magnetic fields at room temperature. Expand
Interfacial Spin Seebeck effect in noncollinear magnetic systems
The interplay between spin and heat currents at magnetic insulator|nonmagnetic metal interfaces has been a subject of much scrutiny because of both fundamental physics and the promise forExpand
Spin Splitting Induced in a Superconductor by an Antiferromagnetic Insulator.
TLDR
It is found that an antiferromagnetic insulator with effectively uncompensated interface induces a large, disorder-resistant spin splitting in the adjacent superconductor, avoiding the detrimental, parasitic effects of ferromagnets employed to this end. Expand
Spin Pumping and Shot Noise in Ferrimagnets: Bridging Ferro- and Antiferromagnets.
TLDR
A theoretical study of spin transport across a ferrimagnet-nonmagnetic conductor interface, when a magnetic eigenmode is driven into a coherent state, and finds that the concomitant shot noise provides a useful tool for probing the quasiparticle spin and interfacial coupling. Expand
Long-distance spin-transport across the Morin phase transition up to room temperature in the ultra-low damping alpha-Fe2O3 antiferromagnet
Antiferromagnetic materials can host spin-waves with polarizations ranging from circular to linear depending on their magnetic anisotropies. Until now, only easy-axis anisotropy antiferromagnets withExpand
Spin Seebeck Imaging of Spin-Torque Switching in Antiferromagnetic Pt/NiO Heterostructures
As electrical control of Neel order opens the door to reliable antiferromagnetic spintronic devices, understanding the microscopic mechanisms of antiferromagnetic switching is crucial.Expand
