In high energy heavy ion collisions at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) at Brookhaven and the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, each central event will contain multiple pairs of heavy quarks. If a region of deconfined quarks and gluons is formed, a mechanism for additional formation of heavy quarkonium bound states will be activated. This is a result of the mobility of heavy quarks in the deconfined region, such that bound states can be formed from a quark and an antiquark that were…

Heavy quark pair production in high energy pA collisions: Quarkonium
Abstract Quarkonium production in high-energy proton (deuteron)–nucleus collisions is investigated in the color glass condensate framework. We employ the color evaporation model assuming that the
Momentum spectra of charmonium produced in a quark-gluon plasma
We calculate rapidity and transverse momentum distributions of charmonium formed in high-energy heavy ion collisions from incoherent recombination of charm quarks. The results are very sensitive to
Sequential Quarkonium Production via Recombination in Heavy-Ion Collisions
Collider experiments at RHIC and LHC indicate the formation of thermal QCD medium in heavy ion collisions. Quarkonia production in such heavy ion collisions are baseline tools for the investigation
Deconfinement and quarkonium suppression
Abstract.Modifications in the production pattern of heavy quark bound states have long been considered to provide sensitive signatures for the thermal properties of dense matter created in heavy ion
J/ψ production is closely related to the production of the strongly interacting Quark-Gluon Plasma (sQGP) in relativistic heavy ion collisions. To study the effects of charm quark dynamics on J/ψ
Medium Modifications of Charm and Charmonium in High-Energy Heavy-Ion Collisions
The production of charmonia in heavy-ion collisions is investigated within a kinetic theory framework simultaneously accounting for dissociation and regeneration processes in both quark-gluon plasma
$\Omega_{ccc}$ production in high energy nuclear collisions
We investigate the production of Ωccc baryon in high energy nuclear collisions via quark coalescence mechanism. The wave function of Ωccc is solved from the Schrodinger equation for the bound state
In-medium formation of quarkonium
We confront preliminary RHIC data on J/ψ production in nuclear interactions with expectations which follow in scenarios involving charm quark recombination in a region of colour deconfinement. The
Quarkonium suppression in heavy-ion collisions from coherent energy loss in cold nuclear matter
A bstractThe effect of parton energy loss in cold nuclear matter on the suppression of quarkonia (J/ψ, ϒ) in heavy-ion collisions is investigated, by extrapolating a model based on coherent radiative
