Wireless communication consumes significant amount of energy. In an ad-hoc network where each device runs on its own battery, the energy consumption should be minimized to extend the network lifetime and hence the energy consumption is one of the most important factors in designing a wireless ad-hoc network. In this paper, we survey literature for the energy efficient multicasting problem in wireless ad-hoc networks.
