Abstract A CFD model for a specific produce simulator is developed to obtain a deep understanding of the mechanisms by which different operating parameters affect the energy consumption of the forced-air cooling process with alternating ventilation mode. In particular, the operating parameters to be analyzed comprise the airflow rate and the switch number.
