Abstract“Encircling Black and Blue” is Peggy Phelan's poetic response to Carol Mavor's recent book, Black and Blue: The Bruising Passion of Camera Lucida, La Jetee, Sans soleil, and Hiroshima mon amour (Duke University Press, 2012).
