We designed a system that track the changes to a particular area of a user's interests on the World Wide Web and to generate a summary of emerging topics back to the user. This system consists of three main components, which are the Area View System, the Web Spider and the Summary Generator. The Area View System, as a meta-search engine, directs the user's keywords to a commercial search engine, obtains the hits, performs further analysis and derives a number of most relevant domain sites. Then…

Query-Based Discovering of Popular Changes in WWW

A method for evaluating how up-to-date a web page is in context of a given topic is proposed, which involves creation of dynamic web collection for a given area of user’s interest.

Emerging topic tracking system in WWW

Design and implementation of on-line hot topic discovery model

A model for hot topic discovery is proposed that will pick out hot topics by automatically detecting, clustering and weighting topics on the websites within a time period, based on the idea of stock index.

A survey of recent topic tracking techniques is presented and the main purpose of topic tracking is to identify and follow events presented in multiple news sources, including newswires, radio and TV broadcasts.

Web page summarization using dynamic content

A new approach towards automatic web page description is proposed, which extends the concept of a web page by the temporal dimension and can complement the existing techniques on web document summarization.

Summarization Using Dynamic Content

This paper proposes a new approach towards automatic web page description, which extends the concept of a web page by the temporal dimension and can complement the existing techniques on web document summarization.

Visual Features for Information Retrieval

It was proposed, that the exploitation of a documents visual information can benefit Learning To Rank (LTR), and this approach would allow to create a model which depends only on visual information, without the use of handcrafted formulas and heuristics.

Using the structure of documents to improve the discovery of unexpected information

The efficiency of the system is evaluated, the experiments put forward the improvements induced by the use of the structure of the documents, as well as some measures for the evaluation of the unexpectedness of documents.

N-33 Topic Extraction and Summarization in News Archive using TF^*PDF Algorithm and Sentence Vector Clustering

An information system that will extract the main topics in the news archive in a weekly basis and by getting a weekly report, user can know what were the main news events in the past week.

TOPIC TRACKING FOR PUNJABI LANGUAGE

The main purpose of topic tracking is to identify and follow events presented in multiple news sources, including newswires, radio and TV broadcasts, and the results are shown.
