}BACKGROUND
The impact of controlled ovarian stimulation (COS) on oocyte and subsequent embryo quality remains controversial. In the present study we have compared embryo quality in natural and stimulated cycles in the same group of patients.
METHODS
This retrospective study was comprised of patients with a regular menstrual cycle who had IVF after COS using rFSH in a long GnRH agonist protocol. In all stimulated cycles the patients had fresh embryos transferred and surplus good quality…

Whereas direct benefits of NC-IVF include no risk of OHSS and multiple gestation, minimal side effects, and less financial burden, cycle cancelation rates are higher due to unpredictable premature ovulation, so more frequent intrusive monitoring may be warranted for the patient to prevent this.

Impact of embryo quality and endometrial thickness on implantation in natural cycle IVF

Embryo quality and endometrial thickness have a significant impact on implantation in NC-IVF and at least 7 mm seems to be the optimal edge of successful pregnancy.
Prospective cohort study in high responder oocyte donors using two hormonal stimulation protocols: impact on embryo aneuploidy and development.
- Medicine, BiologyHuman reproduction

It is concluded that in high responder donors, a decrease in the gonadotrophin dose could improve fertilization rates and embryo quality, but due to the reduced oocyte numbers with lower doses, a similar reproductive outcome in terms of live births would be expected.
A Higher Ovarian Response after Stimulation for IVF Is Related to a Higher Number of Euploid Embryos
- Biology, MedicineBioMed research international
- 2017
It is suggested that the number of euploid embryos available for embryo transfer increases as thenumber of oocytes obtained does, and the total number of Euploids seems more relevant than the aneuploidy rate.

The purpose was to assess the efficacy of IVF in natural cycles, as an alternative treatment in women with a poor ovarian response in gonadotropin stimulation and to explore the relationship between ovarian hyperstimulation and pregnancy.

It is concluded that further knowledge is needed in order to increase the safety of ovarian stimulation and to reduce potential effects on embryo development and implantation, which will ultimately be translated into increased pregnancy rates and healthy offspring.

The results obtained in this study demonstrate that Medically Assisted Reproduction in natural cycle may be an alternative treatment for ovarian stimulation in patients with poor prognosis, whose only alternative would be oocyte donation.

In couples where fertilization may be a problem, usually because of male-factor infertility, the natural-cycle technique is definitely not suitable, and this group of infertile couples is growing markedly at present, and practical reasons, such as a long distance to the IVF clinic, may constitute relative contraindications.
