An RP-HPLC method with photodiode array detection was established for the determination of major constituent, Embelin in Embelia ribes samples. The Embelin was separated by using isocratic mode consisting of 0.1 % trifluoroacetic acid in water and methanol (in proportion of 88:12) at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min. Under these conditions, a plot of integrated peak area versus concentration of Embelin was found to be linear over the range of 5.0-75.0 μg/mL, with a relative standard deviation of 0.61… Expand
