Nonmonotonic causal logic is a knowledge representation language designed for describing domains that involve actions and change. Problems related to action domains described in this language can be often solved using computational methods of answer set programming. This idea has led researchers at the University of Potsdam to the development of COALA, a compiler from action languages to answer set programming.
