Purpose: Adenosine is a ubiquitous nucleoside that accumulates at high levels in hypoxic regions of solid tumors, and A3 adenosine receptors have been recently demonstrated to play a pivotal role in the adenosine-mediated inhibition of tumor cell proliferation.
