With the aid of a new developed silverimpregnation method the dermo-epidermal junction in normal human epidermis was investigated. The basement membrane fit for representation in electron microscope is hardly stained by the applied technique and all intraepidermal fibrillar structures show little contrast. But well stained, very fine microfibrils could be seen, going from the corium to the basement membrane. They are interlaced and form a small subepidermal zone of tight network.
