Some aspects of electroweak physics at the International Linear Collider (ILC) are reviewed. The importance of precision measurements in the Higgs sector and in top-quark physics is emphasized, and the physics potential of the GigaZ option of the ILC is discussed. It is shown in particular that even in a scenario where the states of new physics are so heavy that they would be outside of the reach of the LHC and the first phase of the ILC, the GigaZ precision on the effective weak mixing angle…

Collider constraints on interactions of dark energy with the Standard Model

We study models in which a light scalar dark energy particle couples to the gauge fields of the electroweak force, the photon, Z, and W1 bosons. Our analysis applies to a large class of interacting

Top quark pair production and calorimeter energy resolution studies at a future collider experiment

This thesis is focused on detector concepts and analyses investigated at a future linear electron positron collider. For precision measurements at such a collider, the CALICE collaboration develops

Physics Impact of a Precise Determination of the Top Quark Mass at an $e^{+}e^{-}$ Linear Collider

At a prospective e + e i Linear Collider (LC) a very precise determination of the top quark mass with an accuracy of -mt . 100MeV will be possible. This is to be compared with the envisaged accuracy

Supersymmetry parameter analysis: SPA convention and project

Abstract.High-precision analyses of supersymmetry parameters aim at reconstructing the fundamental supersymmetric theory and its breaking mechanism. A well defined theoretical framework is needed

Particle physics: From the top...

The top quark is by far the heaviest elementary particle known. A measurement of its mass with higher precision has bearing on our understanding of the fundamental interactions of nature.

Towards the european strategy for particle physics: The briefing book

This document was prepared as part of the briefing material for the Workshop of the CERN Council Strategy Group, held in DESY Zeuthen from 2nd to 6th May 2006. It gives an overview of the physics

The Snowmass Points and Slopes: benchmarks for SUSY searches

Abstract. The ”Snowmass Points and Slopes” (SPS) are a set of benchmark points and parameter lines in the MSSM parameter space corresponding to different scenarios in the search for Supersymmetry at

Multi-parameter fits to the $t\bar{t}$ threshold observables at a future ee linear collider

Abstract. A realistic study of the physics reach of a $t\bar{t}$ threshold scan at a future e+e- linear collider is presented. The results obtained take into account experimental and, to a large

Inclusive production ofK*(892) andΣ(1385) in $$\bar p$$ p interactions at 3.6 GeV/c and a test of factorization hypothesis

AbstractWe present a study of the inclusive production ofK*(892) and ∑t+-(1385)+cc at 3.6 GeV/c from $$\bar p$$ p interactions. The sensitivity of the exposure is 35.4 events/μb. Longitudinal and
