Abstract The chromosomal DNA molecules of Metarhizium anisopliae var. anisopliae have been separated into seven bands by pulsed-field gel electrophoresis. Using the Schizosaccharomyces pombe chromosomes as size standards, we estimate the size of the chromosomes to be between 1.6 and 7.4 megabase pairs (Mbp) and total genome sizes of the five isolates to be in the range 29.6 to 32.1 Mbp.
