The hepatic granulomas in experimental cryptococcosis were analyzed by peroxidase (PO) cytochemistry. Cryptococcus neoformans was inoculated intravenously into rats (group A), and some rats were administrated with dextran sulphate to suppress Kupffer cell functions before inoculation (group B). All rats were sacrificed 7 days after inoculation. The livers were examined PO cytochemically. In addition, the liver, spleen, lungs, kidneys and brain were also examined histopathologically.
