We show that recent improvements in the O ( α ) long-distance quantum electrodynamics (QED) corrections to the radiative inclusive K e 3 decay rate using the Sirlin representation are free from infrared divergences and collinear electron mass singularities in the limit m e → 0, as predicted by the Kinoshita-Lee-Nauenberg theorem. We also verify that in massless QED with the simultaneous dimensional regularization of QED photon infrared divergences and electron mass singularities leads to the…

Radiative Corrections to Semileptonic Beta Decays: Progress and Challenges

We review some recent progress in the theory of electroweak radiative corrections in semileptonic decay processes. The resurrection of the so-called Sirlin’s representation based on current algebra

The xishacorene natural products are structurally unique apolar diterpenoids that feature a bicyclo[3.3.1] framework. These secondary metabolites likely arise from the well-studied, structurally

The CKM unitarity problem: a trace of new physics at the TeV scale?

After the recent high precision determinations of $$V_{us}$$ V us and $$V_{ud}$$ V ud , the first row of the CKM matrix shows more than $$4\sigma $$ 4 σ deviation from unitarity. Two possible

Dispersive analysis of $$\eta \rightarrow 3 \pi $$η→3π

The dispersive analysis of the decay $$\eta \rightarrow 3\pi $$η→3π is reviewed and thoroughly updated with the aim of determining the quark mass ratio
