Electron Energy Spectra, Fluxes, and Day-Night Asymmetries of $^{8}$B Solar Neutrinos from the 391-Day Salt Phase SNO Data Set

  title={Electron Energy Spectra, Fluxes, and Day-Night Asymmetries of \$^\{8\}\$B Solar Neutrinos from the 391-Day Salt Phase SNO Data Set},
  author={Sno Collaboration},
Results are reported from the complete salt phase of the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory experiment in which NaCl was dissolved in the D 2 O target. The addition of salt enhanced the signal from neutron capture, as compared to the pure D 2 O detector. By making a statistical separation of charged-current events from other types based on event-isotropy criteria, the e ff ective electron recoil energy spectrum has been extracted. In units of 10 6 cm − 2 s − 1 , the total flux of active-flavor neutrinos…

A Measurement of Electron Neutrino Appearance in the MINOS Experiment After Four Years of Data

This work attempts to measure or set a limit on sin{sub 2}(2{theta}{sub 13}), the parameter which describes {nu}{mu} {yields} {nu}e oscillations. The MINOS detectors at Fermilab are used to perform a

Sterile neutrino oscillations: the global picture

A bstractNeutrino oscillations involving eV-scale neutrino mass states are investigated in the context of global neutrino oscillation data including short and long-baseline accelerator, reactor, and

Observation of Disappearance of Muon Neutrinos in the NuMI Beam

The Main Injector Neutrino Oscillation Search (MINOS) is a two detector long-baseline neutrino experiment designed to study the disappearance of muon neutrinos. MINOS will test the {nu}{sub {mu}}

Neutrinos from Stored Muons ( ν STORM ) : Expression of Interest Executive summary

The νSTORM facility has been designed to deliver beams of ν e and ν µ from the decay of a stored µ ± beam with a central momentum of 3.8 GeV/c and a momentum spread of 10% [1]. The facility is unique

Sterile neutrinos or flux uncertainties? — Status of the reactor anti-neutrino anomaly

A bstractThe ∼ 3σ discrepancy between the predicted and observed reactor anti-neutrino flux, known as the reactor anti-neutrino anomaly, continues to intrigue. The recent discovery of an unexpected

Updated global analysis of neutrino oscillations in the presence of eV-scale sterile neutrinos

A bstractWe discuss the possibility to explain the anomalies in short-baseline neutrino oscillation experiments in terms of sterile neutrinos. We work in a 3 + 1 framework and pay special attention

Updated global fit to three neutrino mixing: status of the hints of θ13 > 0

We present an up-to-date global analysis of solar, atmospheric, reactor and accelerator neutrino data in the framework of three-neutrino oscillations. We discuss in detail the statistical

A Sterile-Neutrino Search with the MINOS Experiment

The MINOS experiment is a long-baseline neutrino oscillation experiment in the the NuMI beamline at Fermilab, USA. Using a near detector at 1 km distance from the neutrino production target, and a

SNO+: predictions from standard solar models and resonant spin flavour precession

Time variability of the solar neutrino flux especially in the low and intermediate energy sector remains an open question and, if it exists, it is likely to be originated from the magnetic moment

Measurement of the calorimetric energy scale in MINOS

MINOS is a long-baseline neutrino oscillation experiment. A neutrino beam is created at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory in Illinois and fired down through the Earth. Measurements of the

EGS4 code system

This report introduces a new, enhanced version of EGS4, a general purpose package for the Monte Carlo simulation of the coupled transport of electrons and photons in an arbitrary geometry for particles with energies above a few keV up to several TeV.
