CONTEXT Investigators have observed electromyographic (EMG) activity of the supraspinatus muscle and reported conflicting results. OBJECTIVE To quantify EMG activity of the supraspinatus, middle deltoid, and posterior deltoid muscles during exercises commonly used in rehabilitation. DESIGN One-factor, repeated-measures design.
