OBJECTIVE To assess the efficacy of electromyogram (EMG)-triggered neuromuscular stimulation (EMG-stim) in enhancing upper extremity motor and functional recovery of acute stroke survivors. DESIGN A pilot randomized, single-blinded clinical trial. SETTING Freestanding inpatient rehabilitation facility.
