Boron-doped diamond (BDD) electrodes have been examined for the electrochemical oxidation of underivatized-nucleic acids in terms of single stranded and double stranded DNA. Cyclic voltammetry and square wave voltammetry have been used to study the oxidation reactions and to detect DNA without derivatization or hydrolysis steps.
