This paper highlights the important results of the investigations on Electrochemical Discharge Machining (ECDM) conducted by the author and his coresearchers. It has been found that “switching phenomenon” plays a crucial role in spark generation and not the straightforward breakdown of the non-conducting vapour blanket. The mechanism of spark generation has been understood reasonably well and inductance in the circuit has emerged as an important process parameter from the investigations. This… CONTINUE READING
