Abstract It is shown that, contrary to what has been said elsewhere, it is not necessary to consider the structure of clusters in order to obtain a resistivity maximum. Making the assumptions that, due to multiple scattering, the resistivity is proportional to total scattering cross-section, and that the amount of solute in clusters remains constant, it is shown that a representation of the clusters by square well potentials gives rise to a resistivity maximum at a radius of the right order of… CONTINUE READING
