Abstract A new poroid wood-inhabiting fungal genus, Elaphroporia, typified by E. ailaoshanensis sp. nov., is proposed based on a combination of morphological features and molecular evidence. The genus is characterised by an annual growth habit, resupinate basidiocarps, becoming rigid and light-weight up on drying, a monomitic hyphal system with thick-walled generative hyphae bearing both clamp connections and simple septa, slightly amyloid, CB+ and ellipsoid, hyaline, thin-walled, smooth and…

Two new wood-inhabiting fungi, Mycorrhaphium subadustumsp.

A phylogenetic and taxonomic study on Steccherinum (Polyporales, Basidiomycota): Focusing on three new Steccherinum species from southern China

Three new wood-inhabiting fungal species, Steccherinum fissurutum, S. punctatum and S. subtropicum spp.

Morphological and molecular identification of four new resupinate species of Lyomyces (Hymenochaetales) from southern China

Four new wood-inhabiting fungal species are proposed based on a combination of morphological and molecular evidence and phylogenetic analyses revealed that the four new species belonged to Lyomyces.

Notes, outline and divergence times of Basidiomycota

Divergence times as additional criterion in ranking provide additional evidence to resolve taxonomic problems in the Basidiomycota taxonomic system, and also provide a better understanding of their phylogeny and evolution.

Morphological and molecular evidence for two new species of Laetiporus (Basidiomycota, Polyporales) from southwestern China

Two Laetiporus species, L. ailaoshanensis and L. zonatus spp. nov., are described from southwestern China based on morphological and molecular characters. Laetiporus ailaoshanensis is characterized

Polypores and genus concepts in Phanerochaetaceae (Polyporales, Basidiomycota)

We explored whether DNA-phylogeny-based and morphology-based genus concepts can be reconciled in the basidiomycete family Phanerochaetaceae. Our results show that macromorphology of fruiting bodies

Perenniporiella chaquenia sp. nov. and further notes on Perenniporiella and its relationships with Perenniporia (Poriales, Basidiomycota)

Perenniporiella chaquenia sp. nov. is described from Argentina. New records of P. pendula and P. micropora are discussed. A key to Perenniporiella species is presented. Preliminary phylogenetic

Comprehensive taxon sampling reveals unaccounted diversity and morphological plasticity in a group of dimitic polypores (Polyporales, Basidiomycota)

The phylogeny of the poroid and hydnoid genera Antrodiella, Junghuhnia, and Steccherinum was studied utilizing sequences of the gene regions ITS, nLSU, mtSSU, atp6, rpb2, and tef1 to show that most species of these genera form a well supported clade in the Polyporales.

Taxonomy and Phylogeny of Polyporus Group Melanopus (Polyporales, Basidiomycota) from China

The phylogenetic result confirmed that the previously so-called Melanopus group is not a monophyletic assemblage, and species in this group distribute into two distinct clades: the Picipes clade and the Squamosus clade.

Three new species of Megasporia (Polyporales, Basidiomycota) from China

Three new species, namely M. rimosa, M. tropica and M. yunnanensis are described from China, and their illustrated descriptions are given and a key to the known species of Megasporia is provided.

Taxonomy and phylogeny of the genus Megasporoporia and its related genera

Taxonomic and phylogenetic studies on Megasporoporia s.l. were carried out, and two new genera were established, and identification keys to the three genera are provided.

Species of Hymenochaete (Hymenochaetales, Basidiomycota) on bamboos from East Asia, with descriptions of two new species

Two new species of Hymenochaete, H. bambusicola and H. orientalis, are described and illustrated as new to science and form a distinct lineage close to H. cinnamomea in the ITS+nrLSU based phylogenetic analyses.

The phylogenetic distribution of resupinate forms across the major clades of mushroom‐forming fungi (Homobasidiomycetes)

Phylogenetic relationships of resupinate Homobasidiomycetes (Corticiaceae s. lat. and others) were studied using ribosomal DNA sequences from a broad sample of res upinate and nonresupinate taxa to support monophyly of the eight major clades of Homob as well as independent lineages corresponding to the Gloeophyllum clade, corticioid clade and Jaapia argillacea.

Re-thinking the classification of corticioid fungi.
